Seems “Funny How Time Slips Away”

“I Never Cared For You” when I was young- Now that I’m older –
I realize I was just plain “Crazy”

I’ve grown into a “Good Hearted Woman” – following my dreams-
Being “On the Road Again”.

Gathering all my” Good Times”,
“Everywhere I Go” – and all the places that I’ve been, well,
They are a bridge from my heart
To my soul. But, with all those memories and all the love I have found -guess I’m still an
“Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground” !

Never been one for the
“Nightlife” crowd –
Only had one “Bloody Mary Morning”-I promised myself “The Party’s Over” !
When that pin hit the floor and it was to damn loud!

I drove into Flagstaff, Arizona with my radio on-
The DJ said “Be the first to call in- when you hear a certain song”
The wait was 3 hours long !
“Club Luck” was on my side!
2 tickets to the concert was what I won!

July 10th seemed an eternity to wait but, there I stood at the
Ampitheaters gate!
Finally to see my outlaw hero!

I found the best place to perch
And when the music started,it called in and surrounded us with so much love, we all must have come to a cowboy church!

I tell you it was over too soon!
I’m still singing that great new tune!

You touched my heart, I’m a brand new child.
My soul was singing with your soul that night – and this is no lie,
I tell everyone just “Roll Me Up and Smoke Me ” when I die!
